Maya Pelichet is a member of the class of 2018 Tulane University of Louisiana. She is currently double majoring in Computer Science and Applied Computing Systems & Technology with a minor in Studio Art. She is currently the Co-president of Tulane Women in Technology, a brother of AKPsi–the professional business fraternity, and a member of the Tulane Black Student Union. She was the Technology Chair for the 2017 CRAWFEST Music Festival and worked for two local New Orleans nonprofits, the Junior Philharmonic Society of New Orleans and the Louisiana Prison Education Coalition. She previously interned at the Starbucks Corporate HQ in Seattle, WA, a local New Orleans advertising business, Deep Fried Advertising (yes, Deep Fried!), and GE Digital in New Orleans. After graduating, she will study abroad in Cape Town, South Africa for the summer and then head back to the states to work as a full-time Product Designer and Front-End Engineer at the Starbucks Corporate HQ.
